Seven myths aboutAI governance

Busted.

AI moved fast. The stories about governing it didn't. These are the seven we hear most, why they don't hold, and what we believe instead.

Read the first myth

Myth no. IBusted by ARGUS

Myth: “We know which AI tools our people use.”

You can't govern what you can't see.

Every organization we meet has a list of approved AI tools. Every one also has the tools nobody put on it: the personal ChatGPT account, the browser plug-in, the scribe app a team found on its own. So we start by looking, not by asking.

In the hospital in our film, the list had 29 tools. ARGUS found 41.

Myth no. IIBusted by TALOS

Myth: “Protecting data means blocking AI.”

Mask the secret. Keep the question.

Block an AI tool and people don't stop using AI; they switch to their phones. TALOS takes the sensitive values out before a prompt leaves the device and puts them back in the answer. The work goes on, and the secret stays home.

We have never drawn a tool as “blocked”. Not even in our own mockups.

Myth no. IIIBusted by ATHENA

Myth: “Compliance is a project you start before the audit.”

Evidence is a by-product, not a project.

Rebuilding a year of AI use in the week before an audit is archaeology. ATHENA files every decision as it happens, under the rule it proves, so the evidence exists before anyone asks for it.

Archaeology is a noble discipline. Just not for audits.

Myth no. IVBusted by THEMIS

Myth: “Good judgement has to be slow.”

Judge in milliseconds, on your rules.

Deciding whether “Falcon” is a bird or a deal shouldn't need a data centre. THEMIS, our System One model, is built to make that call in milliseconds, in context, on the rules you set, and to say how sure it is.

It was a deal. It's usually a deal.

Myth no. VBusted by Colchix OS

Myth: “Train everyone on the policy, and they'll follow it.”

Governance that needs people to change fails at the first deadline.

People don't ignore AI policies out of malice; they ignore them at 6 pm on a Thursday. So Colchix works inside the tools people already use, invisibly, and speaks up only when a rule needs explaining. And when we stop something, we say why.

The policy PDF is fine. It's having a quiet year.

Myth no. VIBusted by Gianni and Gabriele

Myth: “To protect your prompts, a vendor has to keep them.”

Prompts are not ours to keep.

We never store prompts. ATHENA keeps counts and categories as evidence, never the values, and your data is hosted in your region. We started from Europe's rules, and we think everyone deserves them.

We'd make terrible hoarders. We've made our peace with it.

Myth no. VIIBusted by ARGUS, TALOS, ATHENA and THEMIS

Myth: “AI governance means saying no.”

Governance is how you say yes, safely.

We didn't build Colchix to slow AI down. We built it so the people who want to use AI can, and the people who answer for it can sleep at night. Everyone wants to move at AI-speed. We just add the word that matters.

“Safely” gets the underline. It earned it.

Ready to move at AI-speed safely?

Your AI governance shouldn't be a myth.

Leave the myths to our agents.

  • Any AI tool
  • Prompts never stored
  • Live in 5 minutes

Colchix governs the AI tools your teams already use, among them ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, Mistral, Perplexity, DeepSeek, GitHub Copilot, Grok, Notion AI, Hugging Face, Meta AI, Qwen, Ollama.

The short version

Seven lines, free to copy. We'd be flattered.

And because the people who argue for responsible AI should get to practise it, ARGUS is free for them: Colchix for Good.
